Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to St Mary’s Lewisham Church of England Primary School.
I am proud to be the Headteacher of our inclusive, nurturing and aspirational school community, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to thrive. Children are happy, enthusiastic learners who are supported to be curious, reflective and confident as they grow academically, socially and spiritually.
Our Christian vision and values are at the heart of daily life at St Mary’s. They shape our curriculum, guide our relationships and underpin the way we conduct ourselves. We believe that every child is uniquely made, with gifts and potential to be discovered, nurtured and celebrated. Through a culture of kindness, respect and high expectations, we support our pupils to develop resilience, compassion and a strong sense of self-worth.
Learning at St Mary’s is purposeful, engaging and meaningful. We are committed to providing rich experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity, deepen understanding and foster a love of learning. The wellbeing of our children is central to all that we do, and we work hard to ensure they feel safe, supported and confident in their learning.
We place great importance on partnership with parents and carers. Children thrive best when school and home work together, and we value open communication, trust and shared responsibility. We are an approachable school community and welcome the voices, ideas and involvement of our families.
As Headteacher, I am committed to ensuring that every decision we make is rooted in the best interests of the children we serve. I look forward to welcoming your family into our school community and working together to help every child flourish.
